Nigel Evans-Thompson (Musical Director)
Nigel entered the music profession in 1992 having had a successful career as a marketing consultant. He trained with Susan McCulloch, Alberto Remedios MBE
and Elaine Pearce, and he completed a music degree at Royal Holloway College, University of London, in 1998. As well as being Musical Director of Laudamus Chamber Choir, Nigel teaches and performs. His first love is opera and he performed a number of major baritone roles including Count Almaviva (Mozart, "Le Nozze de Figaro"), Don Alfonso (Mozart, "Cosi Fan Tutte"), Baron Zouphol (Verdi, "La Traviata") and Dr. Miracle and Coppelius (Offenbach, "Tales of Hoffman"). He also performs regularly on the concert platform throughout the South East.
Helen Wharmby (Accompanist)
Helen studied piano and violin as part of a B.Mus degree at the University of Birmingham and Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with honours in 1992. Since then, she has qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor. Helen continues a very active involvement in music, in chamber groups and as an accompanist. She is a long standing member of the Kensington Symphony Orchestra, a highly regarded amateur group in Central London. She performs regularly at St John's Smith Square and the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
